Jordy Cohen, MD, MSCE, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology in the Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension Division and Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics. She is a nephrologist and a hypertension specialist whose primary clinical responsibility is caring for patients with complex hypertension as part of the American Heart Association Comprehensive Hypertension Center at the University of Pennsylvania. She also leads a portfolio of NIH-funded research projects that 1) examine physiology-driven pharmacologic effects of antihypertensive medications in complex and high-risk disease states and 2) seek novel strategies to improve blood pressure measurement and mitigate target organ effects of hypertension. She is Chair of the American Heart Association’s Hypertension Science Committee and Co-Chair of the American Medical Association’s Blood Pressure Validated Device Listing.
