Biography
Daniel Lee, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Urologic Oncology in the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lee’s research interest lies at the intersection of communication, behavioral economics, and informatics. His previous work focused on identifying gaps in the quality of cancer care for minorities and creating decision aides to address those disparities. Dr. Lee is currently working in three main areas:- Evaluating how behavioral economics and leveraging incentives can influence healthy behaviors, such as increasing mobility, medication adherence, and preventing long-term opioid dependence in cancer patients and those undergoing major surgery.
- Establishing multigene panels for urologic malignancies to improve personalized screening and treatment techniques. This can then be used to aid risk stratification, precision medicine, and clinical decision support for patients and providers.
- Evaluating the use of patient reported outcomes and patient centered data to provide real-time evaluation of patient status and provide early triggers to decrease complications and improve outcomes.
