Dr. Beidas to Join Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine

The Center for Health Incentives & Behavioral Economics (CHIBE) bittersweetly announces that one of our associate directors – Rinad Beidas, PhD – will be moving on to become Department Chair and Ralph Seal Paffenbarger Professor of Medical Social Sciences at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine starting September 1, 2022.

“Being a part of CHIBE and the Department of Medical Ethics & Health Policy (MEHP) has been amongst the most meaningful professional and personal experiences of my career,” said Dr. Beidas. “I’m so grateful to Kevin Volpp and Steve Joffe for their incredible support and sponsorship of me, our team, and our vision to transform health and health care delivery via behavioral economics and implementation science. It is so bittersweet to leave my incredible colleagues, but knowing we’ll continue to collaborate makes it a bit easier. Thank you to CHIBE and MEHP leadership, faculty, staff, and trainees for everything!”

She’s been a devoted citizen, an important contributor to our ADEI efforts, and a trusted colleague and mentor.”

In addition to serving as CHIBE Associate Director, Dr. Beidas is a professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy and of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, director of the Penn Medicine Nudge Unit, and founding director of the Penn Implementation Science Center at the Leonard Davis Institute. She is also an internationally recognized leader in the field of implementation science.
