Dr. South Named Associate Vice President for Health Justice and Inaugural Director of the Penn Medicine Center for Health Justice

Congratulations to Dr. Eugenia South, who was appointed Associate Vice President for Health Justice for the University of Pennsylvania Health System (a newly created role) and named Inaugural Director of the Penn Medicine Center for Health Justice.

The University of Pennsylvania Health System’s Office of the CEO made the announcement on September 21, 2023. The new center’s goal is to “enable health through racial, economic, and environmental justice for Black, Brown, and all populations and neighborhoods harmed by structural inequity,” according to the press release.

Dr. South is an affiliated faculty member with the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics.
