Biography
Eric VanEpps, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. Dr. VanEpps is also part of the Health Policy & Health Economics Transformative Excellence Program, collaborating in an interdisciplinary faculty cluster to conduct research in health care, population health, and policy. Prior to joining the Eccles School of Business, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at CHIBE. Dr. VanEpps earned his PhD in behavioral decision research at Carnegie Mellon University.
His research provides a better understanding of how information is communicated to consumers, and reveals how the context and phrasing of this information provision are essential components to behavior change. Rather than simply providing consumers with more information, his research hopes to make more efficient use of the information channels already at our disposal to facilitate better information use and improved consumer decisions.
