Biography

Daniel Joseph Banko-Ferran is a PhD student in the Department of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh studying non-monetary factors which negatively impact health and productivity. He collects and analyzes a variety of data sources for his research, including administrative panel data, experimental data, and survey data. He has experience designing and implementing RCTs in the lab and the field and conducting online and in-person surveys in partnership with policymakers at all levels of government. He previously worked as a research assistant at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in Washington, D.C., where he helped implement experiments studying decision-making and modeling financial well-being to improve public policy related to financial literacy and education. He graduated from Swarthmore College with honors in economics and psychology.
