Dr. Lily A. Arya is the William Goodell Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania. A urogynecologist and epidemiologist, she maintains an active surgical practice in Penn Urogynecology, where she served as Chief and Program Director until 2024. She is a CHIBE-affiliated faculty member.
Dr. Arya has been Principal Investigator for multiple multi-center randomized clinical trials through the NICHD-sponsored Pelvic Floor Disorders Network and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, including in JAMA and The New England Journal of Medicine.
Her current research focuses on developing behavioral and digital health interventions to improve diagnosis and management of urologic conditions.
She leads a multidisciplinary quality improvement initiative to promote antibiotic stewardship for urinary tract infections across Penn Medicine.
