Kayla Clark Recognized with Penn’s Models of Excellence
Congratulations to Kayla Clark, MPH, one of CHIBE’s project managers, who will be recognized by Penn’s 2024 Models of Excellence awards. These awards celebrate staff members’ accomplishments that reflect initiative, leadership, increased efficiency, and a deep commitment to service.
Clark works on the Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk Reduction Initiative. “Kayla has overcome challenges, collaborated, built relationships across the Penn community, and made remarkable improvements to the research operations. Her work informed the development of the initiative’s new centralized program, Penn Medicine Healthy Heart, which treats hypertension and hyperlipidemia, increases smoking cessation, and improves nutrition.”
CHIBE and Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy leadership shared in a message: “Kayla has been indispensable to Penn Medicine Healthy Heart and the broader ASCVD Risk Reduction Initiative. Since 2021, she has either contributed to or managed nearly every pilot study that has led to the development of Penn Medicine Healthy Heart and she is now managing the full Penn Medicine Healthy Heart trial that will enroll nearly 2,000 patients. Kayla consistently demonstrates extraordinary initiative to overcome obstacles and initiate positive change. She goes above and beyond to ensure all team members are supported and have what they need to do their work. Kayla’s deep understanding across clinical and research systems and how they all need to integrate cannot be overstated. In all of this she has been unflappable and the consummate team player.”
