ALACRITY Pilot Program
Aims:
1. To explore environmental barriers to conducting Natural Environment Training (NET) in early intervention (EI) settings, such as providers’ responses to disruptive events, by conducting task-analytic observations of NET sessions to examine the typical sequences of events in preparation to, and in the course of NET sessions, in 10 EI settings, and conducting interviews with the observed teachers and teachers’ assistants (further referred to inclusively, as “teachers”) (N=15). 2. To explore cognitive biases that may affect teachers’ behavioral responses to the disruptive events during NET sessions in the observed EI settings by analyzing observational and interview data collected in Aim 1, using a behavioral mapping method. 3. To explore potentially modifiable negative beliefs about NET among teachers by analyzing observational and interview data collected in Aim 1 using the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) framework. |
