Causes and Consequences of Low Caloric Intake in India: Nutrition, Productivity, and Cognition

This project investigates the causal effects of low caloric intake on economic productivity, cognitive ability, and decision-making as well as the causes for low caloric intake via a randomized controlled trial in India. 400 cycle-rickshaw drivers are enrolled in the study for 2 months each. Participants report their labor market outcomes daily, and engage in a battery of tasks and decisions to measure cognitive function and real-world decision-making (e.g. savings habits) as well as physical performance.
