Biography

LauraEllen Ashcraft, PhD, MSW, is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests lay at the intersection of implementation science, behavioral economics, and health care delivery. Dr. Ashcraft studies how implementation strategies reshape the decision environments of clinicians and health systems, drawing on behavioral determinant frameworks including the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research. Ashcraft’s work identifies which strategies change practice, for whom, and why. Her work has been applied to maternal health, aging and inpatient care in the Veterans Health Administration, and chronic pain management in primary care. Dr. Ashcraft received her BASW from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, and her PhD in social work from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Ashcraft is interested in scholarship that advances methods and theory in implementation science.
