Biography
Heather Wachtel, MD, MTR, FACS, is an Endocrine Surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery and the
Associate Program Director for the University of Pennsylvania General Surgery residency program. Dr.
Wachtel specializes in the treatment of hormonally active and malignant thyroid, parathyroid, and
adrenal tumors. Dr. Wachtel’s translational research utilizes genomic, bioinformatics and imaging
approaches to study endocrine and neuroendocrine tumors with the goal of developing novel
therapeutic approaches.
