C. Ross Hatton, PhD, MPA

Biography

C. Ross Hatton, PhD, MPA is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Medical Ethics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. His research broadly seeks to improve population diet and health by identifying and evaluating promising social policies and programs for their impact on food security, nutrition, and chronic disease. His current work lies in three areas: the effect of the design and delivery of social policies and programs on health outcomes, people’s experiences when engaging with public programs and food retail interventions, and the political and media environment in which social policies and programs are implemented. Dr. Hatton received a PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and his MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his postdoctoral training in nutrition policy evaluation at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute.
