Congratulations to CHIBE Associate Director Rinad Beidas, PhD, who has won the Research Pioneer Award from Acenda Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI).

This award is part of AIHI’s inaugural “Momentum Awards,” which celebrate individuals and organizations who are paving the way for the future of behavioral health care delivery.

“Dr. Beidas has leveraged the strength of data and research to not only propel development and innovation within the sector, but to also demonstrate a true commitment to ensuring high-quality care for vulnerable communities,” AIHI said in a press release. “She and her team exemplify how the intersection of data and compassion can make a difference.”

“It is an honor to receive the Acenda Institute of Health Innovation Research Pioneer Award on behalf of our team and community partners who make the work possible,” Dr. Beidas said. “This award recognizes all of the work we have done in the City of Philadelphia with our partners to understand how best to implement high quality evidence-based mental health care. My hope is that the spotlight placed on mental health needs due to COVID-19 and President Biden’s new strategy to address our national mental health crisis will be an inflection point for our country. We must continue to think innovatively with regard to how best to resource and support high quality mental health care. In partnership with the community, I know we can transform mental health care – together!”

Dr. Beidas will be honored in a virtual ceremony on April 19. Read more about the AIHI awards in this press release.

In addition to serving as a CHIBE Associate Director, Dr. Beidas is also Director of the Penn Medicine Nudge Unit, Founding Director of the Penn Implementation Science Center at the Leonard Davis Institute (PISCE@LDI), and Professor of Psychiatry, Medical Ethics and Health Policy, Medicine, at the Perelman School of Medicine.
