Dr. Emily Largent Wins Baruch A. Brody Award and Lecture

Congratulations to CHIBE-affiliated faculty member Emily Largent, JD, PhD, RN, the Emanuel and Robert Hart Assistant Professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Perelman School of Medicine, who has won the 2022-2023 Baruch A. Brody Award and Lecture.

Dr. Largent was chosen for this award by Baylor College of Medicine Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy, the Houston Methodist Hospital System, and the Rice University Department of Philosophy, who recognized her for her “skilled ability to blend conceptual and legal analysis with rigorous empirical methods to address pressing ethical challenges, including those related to aging, cognitive disability, and research involving human participants. Her research, leadership, and commitment to collaborating and mentoring exemplify both the values and the scholarly excellence of Dr. Brody.”

Dr. Brody, a leading bioethicist, was the founding director of the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine and also served as director of the Biomedical Ethics Program.

Dr. Largent will receive her award and deliver her lecture on February 7, 2023.
