Dr. Amol Navathe Named Vice Chair of MedPAC
Congratulations to CHIBE Associate Director Amol Navathe, MD, PhD, for his reappointment to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) and for his promotion to Vice Chair of the commission.
“It is an absolute honor to continue my service at MedPAC in a leadership position. I hope my perspective as a clinician and health policy researcher can benefit older Americans and the dedicated clinicians who care for them,” Dr. Navathe said.
“Congress established MedPAC in 1997 to analyze access to care, cost and quality of care, and other key issues affecting Medicare,” the US Government Accountability Office wrote in a press release about this news. “MedPAC advises Congress on payments to providers in Medicare’s traditional fee-for-service programs and to health plans participating in the Medicare Advantage program.”
Dr. Navathe will serve until April 2025.
