My research examines improving health access and motivating behavior change among adolescent and young adult patients, with a focus on the patient or consumer perspective. I study the consumer experience and design of the ACA’s health insurance marketplaces and how gaining coverage under the ACA is impacting youth’s utilization of healthcare across multiple settings, including primary care, inpatient care, and urgent care and retail-based clinics. My work in behavior change explores the use of social media to better engage with young patients and behavioral economics to motivate change.
